How to initiate a Blue Card visa application procedure with Dwyer Legal

A Blue Card visa is the designated visa to employ a highly qualified employee with a Germany company entity. This article informs about the required documents to initiate a Blue Card visa application with Dwyer Legal.

A Blue Card visa is the designated visa to employ a highly qualified empoyee with a Germany company entity.

The 2 types of Blue Cards, depending on the salary offered.  The relevant salary levels are being defined each January by the German authorizies.

In the lower salary category, a pre-approval precedure needs to be processed to ensure the consulate's approval on the visa application.

In the higher salary category, a confirmation of no-requirement of such approval shall be collected, to speed up the consulate's approval.

To initiate an application procedure for a Blue Card visa from abroad, the following documents / information need to be provided to Dwyer Legal:

General information:

  • Fully filled Dwyer Legal work permit request form
  • Employee specifi informaiton
  • Assignee passport copy
  • Assignee empolyee ID
  • Assignee university degrees (all available bachelor and master degrees)
  • Assignee CV
  • Assignee German employment offer (contract letter)
  • Assignee job title for Germany
  • Assignee detailed job description for Germany
  • Information on intended health insurance plan with the German company
  • Assignee intended work location in Germany
  • Assignee intended living location in Germany
  • Information, if assignee has stayed/lived in German beforehand and - if yes - where and when
  • Information which consulate will be used for visa filing
  • Information on intended visa application date
  • visa application processing number (if consulate appointment has already been booked)
  • Information on intended travelling date
  • Information, if assignee is to be joined by family members
  • Assignee power of attorney (template to be provided by Dwyer Legal)

In addition, the company also needs to provide the following once-off documents:

  • Company related extract from the German company register
  • German company entity power of attorney to Dwyer Legal
