What are the typical payroll processing fees?

This article is to give a rough overview on the typical payroll processing fees.

Dwyer Legal only can assist by installing cooperation with tax firm and payroll processing partners. 

The below are the typical fees to be expected in relation to a payroll processing.

The fees are based on the assumption that the company has a minimum of 200 employees.

As this is only a rough overview, the final fees need to be discussed and negotiated with the payroll partner directly.


Payroll processing fees:

  • Preparation of payroll: € 18 per employee and payroll period (= medium fee according to StBVV).
  • Setting up payroll accounts and registering and deregistering employees: according to time expenditure
  • Certificates: 20 € per certificate
  • Datev costs according to the costs invoiced to us by Datev
  • Other assistance with payroll accounting: time charge according to time spent
  • We would charge for taking over and setting up payroll accounting from the pre-consultant according to the time spent.

Tax consulting and issue oprocessing hourly rates:

  • Tax consultat (Partner): € 220.00/ h
  • Salaried tax consultant: € 165,00/ h
  • Qualified employees € 85.00/ h to € 110/ h

The hourly rates are subject to annual review in line with general wage and cost developments and may be adjusted if necessary.

In addition, we charge expenses and the statutory value added tax, if applicable.
