What is a post graduate visa?

If a EU foreigner has finshed his studies in Germany (based ona visa type 16 b visa), then he / she is auomatically granted to stay and work in Germany for another period of 18 months.

The possibility of staying and working in Germany after the successful end of university studies is regulated in § 16 b / 16 c AufenthG.

In contrary to a job seeker permit, a post-graduate visa holder – with the exclusion of Freelancer Activity and Self-Employment - can also work full-time and with no limitations in the weekly working hours.

Also, for the period afterwards, somebody who has studied in Germany has and relatively easy access to the Germany labor marked: § 18 Abs. 1 AufenthG offers the possibility to also work below the Blue Card work permit levels.
