What is a Schengen Visa?

When a third state national with no visa exception wants to travel to Europe for Business purposes, her / she will need to apply for a Schengen Visa.

A Schengen Visa is a Visa issued by the Schengen states and which is issued for business and holiday purposes.

Once a Schengen visa (which is also known as a category C-visa) has been issued, this visa can not only be used to travel to the isa visa issuing state, but also allows trips to other Schengen member states in Europe.

Still, it is very important to respect that a Schengen visa always has to applied for with that member state, that offers the main purpose of the upcoming travel opportunity.

A Schengen visa will usually be issued for / limited to the intended duration of the business or holiday trip, but long term and multi entry business visas can be requested as well.
