When you look for the requirements of German citizenship applications, you usually either read that you need en "Einbürgerungstest" or ‘Living in Germany’? But what is the difference?
First of all we would like to clarify that both, the naturalisation test and the ‘Living in Germany’ test are carried out on behalf of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
Both tests have the same questions and the same test procedure.
While both test can be used as a base for the citizenship application, there is still a slight difference:
The ‘Living in Germany’ test brings the additional feature to apply for the integration course certificate. This option is not available for the naturalisation test.
